A Simple Way to Lift Your Mood: The Power of Gratitude
It has been proven that gratitude raises your vibration, raises your mood, and makes for a better moment and a better day.
I just wanted to share a quick idea with you today: if you’re sad, if you’re feeling glum, if you’re scared, if you’re afraid, if you’re angry—any of those feelings are okay. They’re just feelings.
But when you consciously think about gratitude, when you consciously ask yourself, “What am I grateful for right now?”—even if those negative feelings are happening, even if you’re feeling scared, sad, or angry—you can shift your energy.
You can start with your body. You can say:
“I’m grateful that I’m alive today. I’m grateful that I have two feet that carry me. I’m grateful that I have knees so I can walk.”
Maybe you can’t run as fast as you used to, but you can walk. You can hike. Maybe you hike slowly now. Maybe you can’t hike as fast as you once could. Maybe you’re not physically what you used to be, but you are still strong.
You can find gratitude in those things. I can find gratitude for just being able to share this with you—whoever you are—knowing that maybe what I’m sharing will brighten up your day a little bit.
So here’s a little dose of gratitude and a little encouragement from me: if you find things to be grateful for, your mood will rise up and your energy will rise up too.
